Event Information

Transition Area - For safety and security, only competitors are allowed in the transition area.  Riding your bike is not allowed in the transition area.  Everyone must wear an approved bike helmet.  Bike helmets must always be buckled. No bikes will be allowed to be removed from the transition area until all bikes are off the course. The transition area will be tight so please respect others in the transition area.

The Swim – The swim will be out and back.  The course is a 1/2 mile clockwise loop. Swim caps are provided and color coded for each wave.  There will be boats about and Lifeguards on kayaks there for your safety.  If you need to rest, let a lifeguard know.  You will not be penalized for resting.

The Bike - The Bike course is a 14 milesout and back .  The bike course is not a closed course to traffic. There will be Police and Volunteers at the major corners but we ask that you use caution throughout. Safety first!   Drafting is not allowed.  Helmets must be worn throughout the entire bike course.

The Run – The 3 mile run is all within Long lake Park Reserve. 

Parking - Parking will be tight so please carpool if possible.

Awards - will be presented to the top three in each age group, Clydesdale, Athena and team. Age Groups( men and women): 19 and under, 20-24, 25 -29, 30-34, 35 -39, 40-44, 45 - 49, 50-54, 54 - 59, 60-64, 65 - 69, 70 and above. Teams include male, female and coed.

Teams - Teams are always welcome and encouraged. Find some friends that will compliment your strengths. Teams can be mixed(at least one female), male or female. If you don't have a team, let us know and we will try to help you find one.

Clydesdale/Athena - Men weighing 200 lbs. plus and women weighing 145 lbs. plus are qualified to enter the Clydesdale/Althena Division.

Elite and Clydesdale/Althena division athletes are not eligible for age group awards. Elite Athletes will be the first wave to start the race

This is race #2 of the Dog Gone Triathlon Series

The 4thd Annual New BrightonTriathlon will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009. The time of year, location of the event, and the distances are all planned to help the multi-sport athlete enter their competitive season. Whether training for the Ironman or participating in your first triathlon, we will make sure that you have an excellent experience.

THE SITE - Long Lake is one of Ramsey County's premier lakes. The 219 acre Long Lake Regional Park is owned by Ramsey County and has many different recreational opportunities

ACCOMMODATIONS - The Mermaid/Americanninn Hotel is the host hotel. Their phone number is 763/786-2000. They are located within 1 mile from the park

THE SWIM - The 1/2 mile swim takes place in beautiful Long Lake.

THE BIKE - The 14 mile bike will travel through New Brighton and Arden Hills.

THE RUN - The 3 mile run will stay completely within Long Lake Regional Park.

Entry Fees - No Refunds

Elite and Clydesdale/Althena division athletes are not eligible for age group awards. Elite Athletes will be the first wave to start the race
